Operational Update

NSW Government releases forecast opening allocations for 1 July 2024

A new Water Allocation Statement from the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has been published on 15 March, which includes a water availability outlook for the 2024-25 season.

There is likely to be a commencing general security allocation of 30% of entitlement, which is an indicative allocation for the NSW Murray on 1 July 2024.

Casual usage charges

To avoid casual usage fees, remember to check your 'DE Transfer Limit' available on the Water Allocation page of your Customer Portal

If your Delivery Entitlement (DE) transfer limit is negative, you can trade in or purchase annual delivery entitlements on the
Water Exchange. If your DE limit is negative and purchases are not made by 31 March, you will incur the casual usage charge on your Quarter 3 invoice.

Casual usage fees are applied to your quarterly invoice when the megalitre usage is greater than 120% of the annual delivery entitlements on your account.

For more on tiered usage fees, see our Schedule of Charges.

Murray Irrigation Schedule of Charges

High demand for water delivery

Ongoing hot weather, orders for rice, and the start of pasture watering mean that order demand is expected to remain high.

Please place your orders as early as possible and with four days’ notice to guarantee delivery.

Remember to lodge an unsatisfied order (see below how to do this) if you are unable to place your order on your preferred date.

How to lodge an unsatisfied order

If you receive the below message when you enter your order, and you prefer an earlier date:

Select 'Reject' to lodge an unsatisfied order.

You will then receive the below message:

Select 'Continue'.

This will place your order as an unsatisfied request and put you in the queue to receive your order as soon as capacity is available, or at a restricted flow in four days.

You can find more details in our Water Ordering Guide or, alternatively, you can contact us and we can show you how.
