Murray Irrigation announces successful sponsorship recipients

Murray Irrigation has contributed a total of $15,000 in funding towards seven local initiatives through its 2024 Community Sponsorship Program. 


This year's successful recipients were selected from 20 applicants, with each fulfilling the criteria requirements of supporting healthy, viable and vibrant local communities. They are as follows: 

 

  • The Cobram Barooga Equestrian Club has received $1,000 to restore damaged grounds.
  • The Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group has been allocated $1,000 to develop a page on its existing website dedicated to farmer wellbeing.
  • The Deniliquin Rotary Club has been awarded $1,650 for catering equipment. 
  • The Deniliquin Stadium has been allotted $1,200 to contribute to the costs of table tennis flooring.
  • Finley High P&C has been granted $5,000 to help support a major upgrade of the school's agricultural plot. 
  • Finley Public School has received $3,000 to establish a sensory garden.
  • The South West Regional Conservatorium of Music has been allocated $2,150 to supports its early childhood program. 

 

Now into its seventh year, Murray Irrigation's annual grants program provides funding for projects that promote community participation, safety and wellbeing within our region. 

 

As part of the company's sponsorship activities this year, a further $15,000 has been allocated towards its long running annual Learn to Swim program. 

Murray Irrigation CEO Ron McCalman thanked all organisations who applied for funding, praising the passion and quality of this year's submissions. 

 

"The volume and scope of this year's applications showcases the energy, innovation and drive of local organisations to make their communities a better place," Mr McCalman said. 

 

"Each and every project demonstrated a commitment to making a difference in the community, and I would encourage those who may not have been successful in this year's funding round to consider reapplying in 2025."

 

Murray Irrigation's Community Sponsorship Program is made possible through the support of the company's customers.

 

Applications for the company's 2025 sponsorship program will open in the first half of next year.
