Murray Irrigation has been notified of an incident resulting in potential chemical contamination of drainage waters into the drainage system.
We are investigating to determine the extent and effect of any potential contamination.
All customers are reminded that Murray Irrigation’s approval is required to discharge water into the drainage system.
In the case of an on-farm incident resulting in unplanned discharge of drainage water, customers are reminded it is
their responsibility to report incidents to Murray Irrigation as a matter of urgency.
Slides at drainage inlets must be kept closed unless discharge has been approved.

Thank you to all customers and team members who reported blow grass blockages in recent days.
Thanks to your reports, we have removed numerous blockages, and our crews continue to monitor and work to unblock our channels, outlets, and regulators.
Due to the wind and the amount of blow grass around, we expect ongoing issues, so please be vigilant and monitor your flows and channels to help prevent interruptions to your orders.
We are monitoring hotspots but, depending on the channel size and blockage location, it can be some time before our level sensors show any impact and, in some circumstances, we will not be alerted to the issue.
Please continue to report any blow grass blockages or other weed blockages you observe.
Reporting will allow Murray Irrigation to action issues as soon as possible and minimise impact on your operating order.
