Operational Update

Sustainability Product - Expressions of Interest now open 

As communicated in yesterday's Customer Update, online Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Murray Irrigation’s Sustainability Product are now open as of 9.00am this morning (Tuesday 6 August). 

77GL of water is available at $92 per ML under this EOI - which closes at 5.00pm on Monday 12 August.

Customers are encouraged to place your orders, as early as possible, online via the Customer Portal.

All orders, prior to the guaranteed dates, are subject to a four-day order notice period. 

From the guaranteed delivery dates listed below less than one day’s notice will be required for orders.

Board meeting update

Murray Irrigation's Board held its latest Board meeting last Wednesday 31 July. 


It was a full agenda, with a focus on new initiatives to support customers, defining the company's new shareholder engagement strategy and the ongoing focus on dealing with the complexity of buybacks. 


The Board was also given a first look at the company's 2023-24 financial results.

Murray Irrigation nominated for local business award 

Murray Irrigation has been named as a finalist in this year's Deniliquin Business Chamber Business Excellence Awards.
 
We are in the running for a gong in the Employer of Choice Award (over 20 Employees).

Murray Irrigation General Manager Business Development, Tessa Chartres, has also been nominated for the Young Business Leader Award. 

The winners will be announced at the Business Excellence Awards this Friday 9 August.

Deni farmers reap top rice awards

A round of applause to Deniliquin farmers Josh and Emily Small, who have been named winner of this year's SunRice Grower of the Year Award, and to Bill Holden, also of Deniliquin, who has received the Grower Industry Contribution Award. 
 
Josh, Emily and Bill were all on hand to collect their respective awards at last Wednesday evening's Rice Industry Awards & Gala Dinner. 

They were not the only farmers from within the local footprint to be recognised for their outstanding contribution to the rice industry. Click on the button below to find out who else made this year's awards list. 
 
Now in its sixth year, the annual Rice Industry Awards are designed to showcase the best in the rice growing industry and highlight innovation in production and irrigation methods, as well as water efficiency.

Farm Walk & Talk - Blighty

Do you know how much stock and domestic water you have stored on your farm? Do you know how much you should have and how to get it where you need it in drier seasons?
 
Ricegrowers Association is holding a Farm Walk & Talk event at the Doherty’s family farm near Blighty for all landholders (not just rice growers) next Tuesday 13 August from 10.00am to 2:30pm.
 
This event will cover topics such as stock water supply assessment, estimating livestock and farm activity demand and best management practices for enhancing and improving stock water quality and efficiency. 
 
Participants will also have to the opportunity to see the stock water system the Doherty’s have in place and hear how they have increased their water quality and efficiency through different management practices. 
 
Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
