Chair Update - 29 August 2024

Murray Irrigation held a Board meeting yesterday, Wednesday 28 August 2024. 

The agenda primarily focused on the Annual General Meeting (AGM) planning and the resolutions that will be put to shareholders on 27 November 2024. Shareholders will receive further detail around this when the Notice of Meeting is released at the start of November. 

The CEO provided the Board with an update on the feasibility study that Murray Irrigation, Coleambally Irrigation and Murrumbidgee Irrigation applied for under the Resilient Rivers Program, as well as other initiatives management are exploring to assist in minimising the impacts of buybacks on Murray Irrigation, our customers and the wider community. 

Time was also spent finalising plans for the upcoming shareholder discussion groups being held from 16 to 27 September. Shareholders will have received an email and SMS yesterday directing you to a registration of interest form, to assist us in developing a discussion group schedule that will reach as much of the footprint and as many shareholders as possible. There will also be radio, social media and print advertising in the local papers to ensure we reach the whole footprint.
