Customer Portal closure

The Customer Portal and access for internal transfers closes today, 25 June, at 5.00pm.

Barmah Choke Trade - 1 July 2024

  • Murray Irrigation will accept applications on WaterNSW Barmah Choke trade forms from 9.00am on Thursday 27 June 2024.

    This follows 
    WaterNSW advice that it will accept Barmah Choke trade applications from 12.00pm on Friday 28 June 2024 and will enable our processing prior to this time on a WaterNSW Barmah Choke trading form

    If you plan to apply to trade water downstream of the Choke, you need to pay the 2024-25 season fees, as the trade will occur on 1 July 2024. 
  • Murray Irrigation 2024-25 fee is $109.30. 
  •  WaterNSW 2024-25 fee is available from its website here (see the 'Find out more' section under the Barmah Choke trade information).

2024-25 Customer Portal, Trade and Water Exchange opening 

The Water Exchange and Customer Portal will re-open at 7.00am on Monday 1 July 2024. 

You will then be able to purchase, sell, and transfer temporary water and delivery entitlements online via your 
Customer Portal

Any allocation announced by the Department of Planning and Environment (DPE) will be applied to your water allocation account following the announcement.

Community sponsorship recipients announced 

Murray Irrigation has contributed a total of $15,000 in funding towards seven local initiatives through its 2024 Community Sponsorship Program. 

This year's successful recipients were selected from 20 applicants, with each fulfilling the criteria requirements of supporting healthy, viable and vibrant local communities. They are as follows: 


  • The Cobram Barooga Equestrian Club has received $1,000 to restore damaged grounds.
  • The Deniliquin Mental Health Awareness Group has been allocated $1,000 to develop a page on its existing website dedicated to farmer wellbeing.
  • The Deniliquin Rotary Club has been awarded $1,650 for catering equipment. 
  • The Deniliquin Stadium has been allotted $1,200 to contribute to the costs of table tennis flooring.
  • Finley High P&C has been granted $5,000 to help support a major upgrade of the school's agricultural plot. 
  • Finley Public School has received $3,000 to establish a sensory garden.
  • The South West Regional Conservatorium of Music has been allocated $2,150 to supports its early childhood program.

Riverine Plains Youth in Ag Program

Riverine Plains is hosting its latest Youth in Ag event, 'Cultivate & Connect', on Wednesday 3 July.

This event focuses on building connections with young people from across our region who are passionate about Ag.

'Cultivate & Connect' creates an opportunity to get curious and learn from experts in the industry.

The program will involve a tour of Lawsons Grains, Q&A panel discussions and small group sessions that will give attendees the chance to engage with industry leaders. 

Ticket sales close at midnight this Wednesday, 26 June. So get in quick.

Deniliquin Biological Farming Roundtable 

NutriSoil's Biological Farming Roundtable is coming to Deni on Thursday 11 July. Join this event for a transformative day dedicated to enhancing soil health and boosting farm profitability.

These Biological Farming Roundtable events travel across Australia, bringing together experts and farmers to explore cutting-edge practices that regenerate the land and maximise yields.

David Hardwick (Agroecologist from Soil Land Food) will share his passion for soil health and regenerative farming, while Rutherglen farmer Tom Briggs will discuss his journey in regenerative farming, offering valuable insights into the transition process and presenting results from a five-year regenerative cropping trial.
