Operational Update

Revised Customer Charter released

A Customer Update was sent yesterday with details of Murray Irrigation's revised Customer Charter. 
 
The Charter sets out the standard of service that customers can reasonably expect to receive from Murray Irrigation and is a measure for which the company’s performance can be assessed. It also outlines the expectations and responsibilities of customers when interacting with the company.
 
The Charter has been updated to include recent revisions to our Privacy Policy, Complaints Handling Policy, Zero Tolerance Policy and the implementation of call recording for quality, safety, and training purposes from 8 January 2025.

Irrigation Innovation Farm Tour – Expressions of interest open

Expressions of interest (EOI) are now open for Murray Irrigation's Irrigation Innovation Farm Tour.

As previously communicated, this pilot initiative is designed to foster collaboration, innovation and shared learning among irrigators in our footprint. 

The tour is planned to take place on Thursday, 13 February 2025 and will consist of two farm visits showcasing hemp cultivation, carbon farming, award-winning corn production, and advanced mixed farming practices. 

Expressions of interest close at midnight on Sunday 19 January 2025.

We encourage irrigators who are keen to expand and share their knowledge in irrigation, farm layouts, innovation and farming practices to fill out the EOI.

ABARES cropping outlook

ABARES has released its Agricultural Commodities Report for the December 2024 quarter, with the outlook for Australian crops as follows: 

  • Value of Australian crop production to increase by 5% to $49.8 billion in 2024–25, driven by higher production.
  • Australian crop production to increase in 2024–25 despite drier than expected conditions in south-eastern Australia.
  • Value and volume of crop exports to fall, reflecting falling prices and exportable supplies.
  • World crop prices to ease in 2024–25 with high global supply, but likely to remain historically elevated.

GRDC Grains Research Update - Wagga Wagga

Wagga Wagga’s two-day GRDC Grains Research Update is taking place on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 February at the Charles Sturt University Convention Centre.

This event is not one to miss for the Southern NSW and Northern Victoria’s grains industry. 

Come along to hear and discuss the latest grains research topics, share ideas and network with colleagues and friends.
