Operational Update

Order early to guarantee water delivery

We encourage you to place orders with at least four days’ notice to guarantee delivery as we continue to experience high demand for deliveries.

Shorter timeframes for orders may be available if there is capacity.

Providing as much notice of your orders as possible guarantees your delivery and provides more notice for potential restrictions so alternatives can be pursued.

Canberra vist

MIL Chair Phil Snowden is pictured with NIC Chair and MIL shareholder Jeremy Morton.

MIL Chair Phil Snowden and CEO Ron McCalman were in Canberra last week attending the National Irrigators' Council's Annual General Meeting (Phil also sits on the Board of the national peak body).

Agenda items for the AGM included an address by Shadow Minister for Water and Emergency Management, Senator Perin Davey.

General discussion centred around the challenges the irrigation industry is grappling with, including the impact of water buybacks, the draft National Water Agreement and proposed water market reforms.

As part of the two-day itinerary, Ron also participated in discussions with fellow southern basin Irrigation Infrastructure Operators, Murrumbidgee Irrigation and Coleambally Irrigation. These discussions also incorporated a meeting with Minister Plibersek’s key water advisor.
